I created a personalized story with Kabook
This past year has been a very exciting one, full of milestones and accomplishments! My little D’Artagnan is growing up quick and learning to read in kindergarten. At home, storytime with mama is his favorite. This made it easy to find the perfect Christmas gift for him: a Kabook! Basically, it’s a book in which you can totally personalize the main character’s name, hair color, eye color, city, favorite song and more.
On the Kabook website, you would choose from a selection of adventures for the plot—just note that the text for each are intended for different ages ranging from 0 to 7. Next up, fill in the blanks Mad Libs-style to make the story your very own. Lastly, upload your child’s photo and the fancy technology will turn it into an illustration to match the rest of the book. You can also choose between a softcover or hardcover version. I went with the “Wanted: The (boy/girl) Who Saved the Kingdom” adventure and the theme worked out so well since we brought it along on our annual holiday trip, which was to Universal Studios and Disney World this year.
Every night before bed or between breaks (thanks to the unexpected rainy days), D’Artagnan would curl up with his book with much excitement about the story that features him as the hero saving a kingdom invaded by an army of frogs. There was magic in every page turn as he was so curious to know how the book knew so much about him. The details described his personality so well!
Co-creating the book was super fun and effortless. It only took me 15 minutes from start to finish! This is the ultimate keepsake and makes my D’Artagnan feel extra special when I read it to him.
