It’s the beginning of another school year, and as much as I would love my children to be successful, I also want them to have the emotional confidence they need to be and feel their best this academic year!
I believe that we place pressure on children to perform just as we put pressure on ourselves to succeed and thrive. I have experienced this first hand as a kid and still as an adult. We feel that performing to fit in or living to fulfill the expectations of others is normal. I refuse to have my children live their lives that way. Building up their confidence and letting them become self aware will build up an armor that will help them be their best selves without the noise.
I want my kids to feel happy when they attend school everyday with an open mind and heart to learn and grow and shine in the subjects they enjoy and feel confident enough to ask for help in the subjects they struggle with. We are not all meant to be the best of the best, but we all have the opportunity to learn, grow and try our best and dedicate time to what drives our passions!
