It’s that time of the year again for back-to-school prep! As a mother of two, time is always of the essence which is why I turn to Walmart to get everything we need in a cinch.
I remember the first back-to-school supply list my husband Michael and I received from Alvieri (who’s now 13!) and how much it has changed since. This September, he’s starting 8th grade and his curriculum requires a calculator in addition to the basics: notebooks, ruler, pencils, pens, folders, and 3-ring binders labeled for each specific class. He’ll also need a good backpack to lug everything around in.
Our younger one D’Artagnan will be a 1st grader and is super excited about clothes! And shoes and accessories. Can you believe this kid? I saw it coming—last year, at the tender age of four, my baby was definitely bitten by the fashion bug!
Not only is it convenient to shop at Walmart (there’s one not too far from our house), but you can’t beat the affordability of the products. They have so many well-priced items and also sales on “rollback” — you know, the signs with all the cute smiley faces on it.
I can spend hours aisle by aisle cruising down the departments for the office, kitchen, bathroom, to clothing and entertainment. D’Artagnan loves to ride in the seat of the shopping cart and help me pick out essentials for the house.
After we came home from our Walmart run, we organized all the new goodies ever so neatly. Something as simple as school supplies can really get the kids excited for back-to-school.
This time of the year is precious for the Lou family—it’s a moment of bonding and celebration!
