With summer coming to an end, I’m excited to welcome fall and plan for the beginning of the holidays. Yes, I said it. As soon as the kids start school, we will be seeing Halloween, Christmas and New Years décor all around. We live in a fast-paced world, and this is why I want to make every moment count, especially the holidays.
You see, I was not born in the states but I was raised here. As a child of immigrant parents who worked all year (with long hours and short vacation time), my siblings, cousin and I spent the majority of our summers watching TV, binging on movies where the characters enjoyed their summers exploring the outdoors bike riding, swimming in lakes, making s’mores and the works!
Well now that I have kids of my own, I most definitely want to experience these beautiful American summers in real life that I grew up learning about in the movies.
We kicked off June with a trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where we had the pleasure of visiting The Gathering Place. Then, we spent a few days in the largest indoor/outdoor water park at Kalahari Resorts. Then, we went on a getaway to the Poconos’ first resort: Woodloch Pines. We also went on a weekend stay at my cousin’s bungalow in the Catskills and our traditional weekend escapes out East, where we enjoyed beautiful days at the beach, fresh seafood, walks in the lavender fields and sunsets at our favorite vineyards.
What do you have planned for the rest of summer?
