A century-old icon, reimagined for today. 💙✨ I joined @guerlain for an intimate first look at the new L’Heure Bleue, a modern interpretation of the House’s beloved 1912 fragrance. The original is powdery, romantic and enveloping with aniseed, bergamot, neroli, carnation, iris, violet, vanilla, benzoin and tonka bean. The new interpretation by @delphinejelk feels like someone opened the windows and let the blue hour in: ozonic freshness, velvety iris, orange blossom, vanilla and warm Ambroxan. We smelled the materials individually, discovered the incredible journey behind Guerlain’s iris tincture, and were welcomed by a pianist playing the melody created for this new chapter. 🎹💙 My favorite discovery? Smelling the ozonic accord alone. Pure, weightless air unlike anything I expected. 1912 is the memory of the blue hour. 2026 feels like standing inside it. Yesterday with @guerlain at @waldorfnyc, discovering a new chapter of L’Heure Bleue. 💙 Created by Jacques Guerlain in 1912, the original L’Heure Bleue has lived for more than a century as one of the Maison’s great olfactory signatures. Now, Guerlain Director of Perfume Creation @DelphineJelk has reimagined that blue hour through a distinctly modern lens not replacing the original, but creating a new expression alongside it. The original will continue as L’Heure Bleue 1912. What I loved about this experience was going beyond simply smelling the finished fragrance. We explored the history, the individual materials and the extraordinary amount of work behind something that can feel so effortless once it reaches the skin. Then comes the iris. And learning what goes into that iris made me appreciate it even more. We were shown the journey from Iris pallida to rhizome to tincture, including years of cultivation and drying before you even arrive at the material a perfumer can begin working with. Guerlain developed a bespoke iris tincture specifically for this fragrance and pairs it with precious iris butter to express the flower more completely. Against that cool, velvety iris comes vanilla and Ambroxan, bringing warmth and sensuality. Delphine Jelk describes the idea beautifully as a meeting of opposites: the freshness of air and sky against the warmth of skin. That contrast is exactly what I smelled. 1912 feels like the memory of the blue hour powdery, romantic and enveloping. 2026 feels like standing inside the blue hour air, light, iris and warmth suspended together. A new chapter of L’Heure Bleue. 💙 Yesterday, I joined @guerlain at @waldorfnyc for an intimate pre-launch of the new L’Heure Bleue a modern interpretation of one of Guerlain’s most beloved fragrances. What made the experience so special was discovering not only the fragrance, but the extraordinary complexity behind the materials themselves. The original L’Heure Bleue 1912 is beautifully powdery, floral and nostalgic, built around: • Aniseed & bergamot • Neroli • Carnation • Iris & violet • Vanilla • Benzoin & tonka bean The new L’Heure Bleue by @delphinejelk brings that iconic signature into a much more luminous, contemporary space: • Ozonic accord • Iris tincture & iris butter • Orange blossom • Vanilla • Ambroxan The contrast is beautiful. The ozonic accord creates this almost weightless sensation of air and celestial freshness. Smelling it on its own was one of my favorite moments no citrusy brightness, pepperiness or soapiness to my nose. Just pure, transparent air. Then there is the iris, and this is where I became completely fascinated. We learned about the journey of Iris pallida, years of cultivation, followed by years of drying its precious rhizomes and the extensive research behind Guerlain’s bespoke iris tincture. It gave me an entirely new appreciation for what eventually translates in the fragrance as this incredibly creamy, velvety softness. And finally, vanilla and Ambroxan bring back that enveloping warmth that connects the modern composition to the sensuality of L’Heure Bleue. The original feels like the memory of the blue hour is romantic, powdery and enveloping. The new L’Heure Bleue feels like standing inside it - air, iris, light and warmth. 💙 I’ve always loved @delphinejelk’s work, and experiencing the craftsmanship and raw materials behind her modern interpretation made this such a special afternoon. The end of summer feels a little different this year. 🤍 Somewhere between our beach days, late sunsets, little adventures, and all the moments I wish I could bottle up forever, my little bestie grew up on me. Now she’s getting ready to enter 8th grade, stepping into a whole new chapter with bigger dreams, new experiences, and a world that is becoming more and more her own. As her mom, it’s such a beautiful, bittersweet thing. I am going to miss the little girl she was while being completely in awe of the young lady she is becoming.
